Unfortunately, it’s an all-too-common situation that marketing analytics and data strategy practitioners live on a metaphorical hamster wheel. Urgent requests from management come in and take priority. SQL queries have to be written. “Management needs the info by tomorrow.” And management stakeholders always seem to ask “why is it taking so long?”
So, what’s a marketing analytics and data strategy practitioner to do? It’s clearly not enough to tell stakeholders “it’s more complicated than you think.” And it’s usually not as simple as just asking for a seat at the table, so that you can be more proactive.
